What if the answerisn’t either/or —
but Both/And?
Some of the highest-stakes challenges can't be solved by choosing sides. Betsy A. Miller — litigator, strategic advisor, and keynote speaker — helps leaders leverage the tension instead, in the courtroom, the boardroom, and the classroom.
THE FRAMEWORK
Some tensions can't be solved.
They can only be leveraged.
A polarity is a pair of opposites that need each other over time — try to win one and you break the system. Betsy's Both/And Mindset names the tension a team is stuck inside, then turns it into something to be used rather than resolved.
At Harvard Law School, I created the university's first course dedicated to the polarities framework, using the Both/And Mindset.
STABILITY / change
FLEXIBILITY / STRUCTURE ACTION / REFLECTION
I work at a unique intersection — in the courtroom, the boardroom, and the classroom. This range of experience is the foundation for my ability to help clients transform competing values into better outcomes.
Sustainable success depends on a paradox — preserving stability and embracing change, executing tasks and building relationships, providing challenge and offering support.
“The most insightful strategist I've worked with and the most compelling speaker I've heard — and somehow the same person.”
