I help clients see what's so easy to miss:

The hardest challenges need us to integrate the benefits of opposing values, not choose between them

Betsy A. Miller

I'm a strategic advisor, keynote speaker, and litigator with more than 25 years of experience. I've taught negotiations and leadership at Harvard Law School, Georgetown Law School, in the private sector, and in the government. I help clients see what's so easy to miss: the hardest challenges need us to integrate the benefits of opposing values, not choose between them.

My perspective comes from a career spanning positions in government, law firms, and academia — holding leadership roles, prosecuting and defending high-stakes cases, advising clients under investigation, coaching senior executives, and teaching the next generation of leaders. I've led billion-dollar negotiations, served as Chief of Staff to the D.C. Attorney General, worked in the United States Senate, and counseled family offices through generational transitions.

At Harvard Law School, I created the university's first course dedicated to the polarities framework, using the Both/And Mindset.

I work at a unique intersection — in the courtroom, the boardroom, and the classroom. This range of experience is the foundation for my ability to help clients transform competing values into better outcomes.

Sustainable success depends on a paradox — preserving stability and embracing change, executing tasks and building relationships, providing challenge and offering support.
